Theatre includes acted performances on stage that depict a writers perspective on certain events be it on historic or current events. It falls under a larger category of act theatre education. A theater refers to a venue place or a location where an actual play is performed by actors in front of a live audience. The word theatre was originally developed from the Greek. Actors on stage use gestures speech and other literary skills including song and dance.

Theatre and most of its modern form was originated from the Greeks i. E. Terminologies used, the different classifications of genres, cast of characters as well as plot elements among numerous others. In the class, performances of the following are included; musicals, ballet operas play comedies drama.

There is a wide variety of courses that fall under the different categories and types of act theatre. The first type is drama which is the form in which a writers fictional concept is represented in form of a live performance enacted on stage for a live audience. Famous examples of drama are William Shakespeare’s hamlet and Oedipus the king by Sopheles.

Music, song and dance can be incorporated into drama as it relates to the case of operas and musicals which fuse the three together with spoken dialogue. Music and dance can also be used in drama as literal accompaniments. These are all taught aspects within the school of act syllabus.

Another type or category is musical which uses a combination of speech in form of a dialogue by the cast on stage and dances to incorporated songs to form one complete stage production. Musical one was originally derived from comic opera which eventually evolved to musical comedy. An example is the Edwardian musical comedy in the 1800s.

Additional course categories include tragedy and comedy. A distinctive feature in comedy is the use of humor in the narration and enactment of stories including use of other styles e. G. Mimics among numerous others.

In the instance of tragedy, death and suffering are the main depictions used to bring a theatrical imitation of specific historic events as well as relationships between tragic lovers as in the instance of Romeo and Juliet by Sir William Shakespeare. In modern times commonly used terms include tragicomic, melodrama and epic theater that remain to be an important depiction of different societies.

It employs the use of different technical aspects that include collective response and an integrated form of production. The main form of literature affected by these aspects is the dramatic text structure.

A contribution from the playwright, actors in the cast together with the director and his production team is a key element in the making of a complete stage production in relation to act theatre education. In general scenography is the term used to describe the entire collection of technical aspects employed in stagecraft. These include the stage design, decor arrangement as well as the the lighting directions. In addition to these are the costume design and makeup.
